Duval Food Day is taking place today, October 24th, at Hemming Park, Downtown Jacksonville, 3-7PM. This is a free event with activities for children and the whole family. Food Day is a nationwide celebration of healthy, affordable and sustainable food. There will be local food trucks, food art displays, food demonstrations and samples, local food resources and recipes, live music, giveaways, and local produce.
Food Day aims to reduce food insecurity in the community and bring us closer to a food system with “real food.” There will be 35 vendors, including, 6 food trucks, local farmers, goats, and chickens! The Pink Cupcake, The Super Food Truck, Big Island Bowls, Wrap it Up, and Sweet Pete’s will be there. River City Chicks will be bringing their chickens and Black Hog Farms will be there too.
