A few weeks ago, we headed to TNT Gymnastics to film a segment for “The Navy Mom’s Welcome to Jacksonville Guide.” I first discovered TNT when my little one was 15 months old. He was climbing on everything in the house at that point, and I was desperate to find a fun, and safe way, for him to exert all of his energy and independence. I visited TNT on a Friday for their preschool open gym. They offer this program two days a week, Wednesdays, 11am-12pm, and Fridays, 9am-10am. My husband was deployed for 9 months so TNT Open Gym became one of our weekly stops! My son had a blast and I was able to meet other moms. They have 14,000 square feet of padded play with a foam pit, trampolines, a bounce house, and tons of equipment for children to explore.
After getting to know the owners, Denise Weaver (Navy spouse) and Devon Greenmun, it is clear to see that not only do they have a passion for gymnastics, but their backgrounds and experience are impressive. I quickly learned that TNT has way more programs that just the preschool open gym. I was AMAZED at what all they have to offer families. They have programs for all skill levels and ages. Olympic gold medalist, Shannon Miller, has her child enrolled in classes here. Yes, THAT Shannon Miller. Read her testimonial about TNT here.
TNT offers competitive gymnastics programs, boys and girls programs, dance and cheerleading classes, Adult Fit-nastics, Camps, and awesome weekly activities. Their marketing director, Lauren Parsons, told us all about the great programs they have going on throughout the week:
Mom’s Morning Out-Every Monday from 9am-12pm. The price is $25 and includes: gymnastics, craft, pit time, games, snack, and story. You can drop your child off and enjoy a morning out. This is for ages 3-6 and your child must be potty trained.
Imagination Station-Every Thursday from 9:30am-11am. Spark your child’s mental and physical capabilities and allow them to unleash at TNT. This program is for parents and children ages 2-6. Each week, there will be a different activity to allow your child’s mind, energy and imagination to flow. The cost is $12 for members, $15 for non-members and $6 for ages 12-24 months. Class includes 1 hour of open gym and 30 minutes of structured activity.
PreSchool Open Gym-Every Wednesday, 11am-12pm, and Friday, 9am-10am. The cost is $5 cash or $6 with a card. *Friday’s are on hiatus throughout the summer so be sure to call and check first.
Summer Camp-June 8th-August 21st, TNT hosts summer camp from 9am-3pm. Come to TNT over the summer for a fit and fun camp experience! Every child will participate in gymnastics rotations focusing on new skill and position development. They will get to interact on all apparatus in the facility from vault, bars, beam, rings, trampoline, pit, & more! When it’s time to slow down and catch a breathe, they will have snack, crafts, & lunch each day. They offer extended care hours in the morning and afternoons as well.
Parent’s Night Out-The 3rd Friday of every month, from 6pm-10pm, is “Parent’s Night Out.” You can drop off your children and know they are having fun at TNT. The price is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. This includes pizza, drinks, fitness, obstacle courses, gymnastics and fun!
Adaptive Gymnastics-This program sounds awesome! Adaptive Gymnastics gives children with special needs the opportunity to participate in the sport of gymnastics, no matter what their skill level. Contact TNT for more information.
In addition to all of these fun programs, TNT has seasonal events too. In order to keep up with everything they have going on, I highly recommend following them on Facebook. TNT also offers a Hometown Hero’s Discount for families of military with 10% off an 8 week class tuition. You can also book your child’s birthday party here.
