53nd Annual Isle of of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, April 29th-May 1st. Jump on the ferry in Mayport and take a ride over to Fernandina for the day. In addition to enjoying great shrimp, there will be performers and a special Kidzone. The Kidzone, located on Atlantic and 11th, will feature food, drinks, entertainment for children, a big slide, jugglers, sand bottles, pirates, and more.

Military Spouse Night Out, 5pm-8pm. Mayor Lenny Curry and the City of Jacksonville Military Affairs and Veterans Department invite you to Military Spouse Night Out. The event, which will honor the area’s hard-working female and male military spouses, is free. It will include self-defense, fitness and cooking demonstrations, while the local chapter of the USO will provide more than 800 Ann Taylor dresses for the female spouses with a valid military spouse ID card. The event is open to all active duty, reserve, guard and retired spouses with valid ID, which will be verified at the door.
