It’s down to the final 3 for Navy Spouse of the Year! There were many amazing spouses nominated this year. Guess what, Jacksonville??? Our very own, Stefanie Sanders, has made it to the top three. Last month, Stefanie won the base level Military Spouse of the Year for Naval Station Mayport. She has now been chosen as a final three for the NAVY Military Spouse of the Year. A special congratulations to Marcella Lewis for winning the base vote for Naval Air Station JAX! We are lucky to have such dedicated spouses that have gone above and beyond for their families and many others here in Jacksonville.
Today is the day to vote for Navy Military Spouse of the Year. I’d like to share with you why Stefanie Sanders was nominated and why you should take a few seconds to vote for her today. Stefanie was nominated by Captain Brad Cooper, Commanding Officer of the USS Gettysburg (CG-64), stationed in Mayport, Florida. In his nomination letter, Captain Cooper writes:
“Stefanie Sanders is a Navy spouse, a Navy veteran and a Navy grandkid. She is nominated as the Military Spouse of the Year … and could well be the Military Spouse of the Decade! Stefanie is an EXTRAORDINARY AMERICAN and a MILITARY SPOUSE “SUPERWOMAN” … a DIFFERENCE-MAKER… a SELFLESS SERVANT… a woman of enormous PASSION and COMPASSON FOR PEOPLE. Her story will resonate with you. You will relate to her sacrifices; you will connect with her passion for service; you will understand and appreciate her compassion for deployed families. You may have never met her personally, but you’ve met men and women she represents. What sets Stefanie apart is: the DEPTH, BREADTH and EXTENT OF HER AMAZING IMPACT on literally thousands of military families, civilians, and the Jacksonville, Florida, community in which she lives.”
