April is almost here! What a beautiful time of year in Jacksonville. There are so many fun events this month for you to check out. Did you know that April also celebrates the month of the military child? From Easter Egg Hunts and county fairs to carnivals and sporting events, your month is sure to be a busy one.

NAS JAX MWR is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 1st at McCaffrey Softball Complex. This is a free event. Egg hunt start times:
7:00 p.m. Ages 0 – 2
7:10 p.m. Ages 3 – 5
7:20 p.m. Ages 6 – 8
7:30 p.m. Ages 9 – 12

Visit the Clay County Fair, April 2nd-11th! Discounted tickets will be available until April 1st. Tickets are on sale now at the Fair Office at 2493 State Road 16 West in Green Cove Springs and on the website www.claycountyfair.org. Discount tickets also available at the ITT offices at NAS, Mayport and Kings Bay. Performances include: Tuesday April 7th, Montgomery Gentry, Wednesday April 8th, Parmalee, Thursday April 9th, Ronnie Milsap. Children 5 and under are free admission when accompanied by an adult.
Cheer on the Jacksonville Sharks as they play the Orlando Predators at Veterans Memorial Arena. The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). Tickets are available at ITT on NAS JAX and Mayport.
City of Jacksonville Beach Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 4th at 10am at Sunshine Park. For more information, call City of Jacksonville Beach Parks & Recreation at 904-247-6236.
Easter Egg Hunt and Open Gym at TNT Gymnastics, Saturday, April 4th, 2-5 years old: 3-4:30pm and 6-10 years old: 4:30-6pm. Admission: $12 (Pre-Sale by 3/29), $15 (Late Reg / Walk In), $6 (12-23 Months) Entry Includes: Easter Egg Hunt, Craft, Goodie Bag, & Open Play
Marshmallow Classes at Sweet Pete’s Candy! April 4th, 11th and 18th, your little one’s can decorate marshmellows at 10:30am. Open to ages 3-7. $15 per person.
Adventure Landing Easter Egg Hunt-check out their 20th annual Easter Egg Hunt on the mini golf courses. There will be 3 hunts at 9am, 10am, and 11am for different age groups, 4 and under, 5-8, and 9-12. A $3 per child donation will benefit the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corp. Bring your own basket and space is limited.
There are many wonderful Easter celebrations going on at churches throughout Jacksonville.
Celebration Church will be hosting a Family Eggstravaganza Sunday evening at 5PM with food, games, music and more. Locations: Celebration Arena (9555 R.G. Plan a ladies night out and register to paint “Love Anchors the Soul” at Painting with a Twist in San Marco. The event is from 7p-9p and the cost is $35. You are welcome to bring your favorite bottle of wine or beer and other food or snacks.
Go see the Potted Potter, The Unauthorized Harry Experience, a parody by Dan and Jeff at the Times Union Center. This Olivier Award nominated show takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes. Disney on Ice presents Let’s Celebrate, at the Veterans Memorial Arena April 9th-April 12th. ITT at NAS JAX and NS Mayport still have tickets available for $15 to the Friday, April 10th at 7:30PM, Saturday, April 11th at 11:30a and 7:30p and Sunday, April 12th at 1pm and 5pm shows. Availability can change at any time.

The Cummer Museum hosts “Art for Two: Under the River!” Children will create an underwater watercolor painting featuring plants and animals that live in the St. Johns River. Earth Day and Ecology Fair 2015! Celebrate at the Jacksonville Landing from 10pm-4pm. Rain or shine, the cost is free. This annual event is celebrating its 25th year at The Landing and features booths of educational and interactive displays, live entertainment throughout the day on the main stage, giveaways and more. A children’s stage is located on the West end, offering a variety of kid-friendly, hands-on displays and the Jacksonville Zoo will show off their animals!
Fifth Anniversary of the Guinness World-Record Setting “Great Cloth Diaper Change” International Event. Head to Bay & Bee off Atlantic at San Pablo and participate in this awesome event at 11am! The Great Cloth Diaper Change event will attempt to break last year’s Guinness World Record™ of 8,459 babies changed at one time around the world. Attend the event and stay and play at Bay & Bee. It is a beautiful, indoor play center designed for ages 0-4. Your first visit to Bay & Bee is free.

To celebrate the opening of National Park Week, all U.S. national parks will have a no-fee weekend April 18th-19th. Visit the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine for free this weekend.

At 10am or 12pm, see Curious George, the musical, at The Florida Theatre! Join the inquisitive, lovable little monkey Curious George, star of books, movies and the award winning PBS television show in this delightful new musical. Admission is $8.
